Frequently asked questions
- How do I generate a new palette?
- Press the spacebar, or tap the shuffle button. Any swatch you have locked stays put while the rest regenerate around it.
- Can I keep a color I like?
- Yes. Click the lock icon on a swatch to pin it. Locked colors are never changed when you shuffle.
- What color codes do I get?
- Each swatch shows its hex code, which you can copy with one click. You can also export the full palette as CSS custom properties or JSON.
- Are the palettes random or harmonised?
- Each shuffle picks a color harmony — analogous, complementary, triadic and more — then spreads lightness so the palette reads cleanly from light to dark.
