Frequently asked questions
- How do I get a color from an image?
- Add the image, then either read the dominant colors it pulls out automatically, or click any spot on the image to sample that exact pixel.
- Is my image uploaded anywhere?
- No. The image is read and analysed in your browser. It never leaves your device and nothing is stored.
- How are the dominant colors chosen?
- The image is scanned and similar colors are grouped, then the largest groups are ranked. The result is the handful of colors that cover the most area.
- What image formats can I use?
- Any image your browser can open, including JPG, PNG, WebP and GIF. Large images are scaled down internally so the analysis stays fast.
